Still no visit from Drac!

Drac did not come to visit. We shall have to wait longer until Drac comes to find the plans we have made for a new home for him.

The children of Year Three have been very busy putting ideas together for a new home for Drac. They have also given details of how Drac could travel to his new home. All that remains is for Drac to decide which of the plans he prefers.

All this work was completed as homework whilst, in school the children are completing their wonderful legends. I look forward to sharing these stories on this Blog so that you can enjoy them too.
This is our latest letter. It is rather a long one again. I do hope Drac manages to answer all the questions.

Friday 27th March

A busy week - part one.

This week the children in Year Three have been busily putting the finishing touches to their dragon legends as well as writing dragon poems.

Just read these. I think you will agree that they are wonderful.

Tuesday 24th March.

Just how long is Drac's tail?

We found out that Drac's tail is much longer than his body. We looked in "Dragonology" and found out that the adult European Dragon was 45 feet long and 17 feet tall. We took 17 feet from 45 feet to find out how long the tail was. We found out that the tail was 28 feet long.
Drac isn't an adult. We know that he is half-grown. We worked out that his tail would be 14 feet long. Then we measured a long strip of paper the same size as Drac's tail. We measured this as 4m 30cm.
In the hall we laid out the strips.
Daniel told me that Drac would be 6m 90cm long if he lay down (22 feet 6 inches).

Monday 23rd March

Drac returned!

When we got into school this morning, Drac had returned. He had left us some answers to our questions too.
It took us only a few minutes to get the answers sorted out so that they went with the right questions.

Thursday and Friday, the 19th and 20th March.

The whole class was busy during these days making games using magnets. The games had to include dragons, of course.

Tuesday 17th March

This was an important day!

We planted our potatoes.
(This photograph will not upload the right way round!)
A lot of people helped with the filling of the tubs and planting.
The potatoes now stand in their tubs by our classroom door.

Monday 16th March.

There was no reply from Drac to the letter we had left him on Friday 13th.

This was quite a surprise since each time he had come it was to leave us something on a Monday morning.

This is the letter we left:

This was quite a long letter since there was so much we wanted to ask.

Getting up to date.

Sorry it has taken a while to post this entry. There has been so muich going on in the classroom over the past week that it will take a time to catch up!

Wednesday 11th March.

A new dragon!

This morning, Lauren R and Keira brought in the delightful paper and cardboard dragon they had made at Lauren's house on Monday evening.

What a wonderful dragon they made!
