Wednesday 4th March.

Our dragon now has wings!

The dragon hanging on our classroom wall now has wings.

We have now finished the rest of the body and tail of our dragon. The wings have been finished too. These were constructed by Mrs Garratt who used card. She also used drinking straws to make the ridges in the wings. A group of children from the class used sponges and cloths to sponge paint onto the wings. A mixture of black, blue and orange powder paint was used.
Now all we need to do is add the legs.

The whole class also worked today to find out where the different dragon legends come from. Believe it or not, there is a map of the world underneath all the post-it notes! We had been able to find a lot of information from around the world about dragons.
A teacher from Australia sent this wonderful link about the Bunyip, a dragonlike creature. On the site there are some marvellous stories from the aboriginal peoples about the Bunyip.
